about

"I wrote this song while looking at a full moon one night, pondering the all-too-common scenario of 'the one who got away.'

Although it's written as a sad song, I feel there's a playful side to it as well. The 'moon' and 'stars' symbolize the flashy distractions & vices that are sometimes used to numb the loneliness and pain of lost love."

Hello moon
You’re looking mighty splendid this evening
Pleased to meet you under the sky
I know you
And the face that you’re making
Can you read how I feel inside?

(Ooh...) I’m so in love with somebody
Somebody I’ve loved for a very long time
(Ooh...) Oh, but my love doesn’t love me
So, that’s why I’m staring at you tonight

Hello stars
Oh, you’re so captivating
It’s a shame that the city lights are hiding you
On the day when you’re fading
Do you think you could lead my soul home, too?

(Ooh...) I’m so in love with somebody
Somebody I’ve loved for a very long time
(Ooh...) Oh, but my love doesn’t love me
So, that’s why I’m staring at you tonight

(Ooh...) Oh, how I long for the beauty
That stayed with me each night

Well, I like the moon
And I like the stars
But the one I love still has my heart
