about

"This is a song about my struggle with faith. Somedays I have it, other days I don't. We can either use it to see the world through a hopeful lens, or deny it in order to avoid disappointment when prayers aren't answered. To cope with the ups and downs of life, some will turn to divine intervention, while others will solely rely on means in which they can control.

Whether you believe in a higher power or not, life will continue to challenge us... It's up to you in choosing an ideology that works best for you in overcoming hard times."

PETTY HEART
© Copyright April 28, 2020, Written & Composed by Amanda Jean Wourms

I never cared to say a prayer in almost twenty years
But if I dare
I’ll declare that I’m still standing here
But it’s a sorry sight to see an angel’s broken wings
And to hear the lonely lullaby she sings

Oh
Oh, where do I go
Oh, where do I fall from here

Oh, my heart
Oh, my precious heart
Oh, my petty heart’s falling out of reach
Oh, my heart
Oh, my precious heart
Oh, my petty heart’s breaking at the seams

Oh
Oh, where do I go
Oh, where do I fall from here
Ooh, my heart

Hm...

Was losing faith a big mistake
Like my mother said
Years of shame with God to blame
A lifetime of regret
The way I see it now
It can only go two ways
You can be a hopeless know-it-all
Or cling onto blind faith

And the world will keep on spinning
And we’ll all just keep on singing

Oh
Oh, where do I go
Oh, where do I fall from here

Oh, my heart
Oh, my precious heart
Oh, my petty heart’s falling out of reach
Oh, my heart
Oh, my precious heart
Oh, my petty heart’s breaking at the seams

And oh
Oh, where do I go
Oh, where do I fall from here
Ooh, my heart

Hm...
Hm...

Oh, my heart
Oh, my precious heart
Oh, my petty heart’s falling out of reach

Oh
Oh, where do I go
Oh, where do I fall from here
Ooh my heart

Hm...
