"The melody came to me first... as it usually does. I just couldn't get it out of my head. The repetitive, 'Ooh...' which eventually became, 'You...'

I also couldn't shake the imagery of walking around town at night with my significant other. Some of the best conversations I've had with my partner are when we walk around the neighborhood at night. We often discuss plans for the future, point out which houses we like, or talk about what's going through our minds.

I thought about how much I would miss those moments together if he ever left me... How much I would miss that deep connection. Eventually, the song morphed into my perception of what it might feel like to lose the love of your life.

I feel like the overall tone and production of this song really encompasses that feeling of haunted loneliness from lost love."
